My Luthier Story
I embarked on my journey in the art of instrument building back in 2010 when I first took the initiative to craft a Bowed Lyre, known as Jouhikko in Finnish, specifically for my own personal use and enjoyment. To me, instrument making is much more than just a creative pursuit; it involves a commitment to ensuring that each piece is not only visually appealing but also highly functional. My ultimate goal is to design and create distinctive, handcrafted folk instruments that adhere to the highest professional standards, ensuring that there is no compromise in quality or performance.
Since 2010, I have built a variety of different instruments, and with each one I complete, I gain a wealth of knowledge. This journey has taught me a great deal about acoustics, materials, design, playability, and much more. Each instrument is a learning experience that enhances my craft and deepens my understanding of what makes an exceptional musical tool.
