Come and discover a new dimension to your voice and enrich its sound. We will learn how to hear and produce the overtones and also explore the basic techniques of throat singing.
Throat singing is a singing technique that originated in Central Asia, in which the singer produces overtones at the same time as the fundamental sound. Throat singing is traditionally practised in Mongolia, Tibet and Tuva, although it is also found in other cultures.
Jukka-Pekka Lilja, the course leader, is a musician and folk instrument maker. He is known for his work with the bands Tuima, George & Angelique and Ikiväki.
